You are responsible for confirming your or your organization’s eligibility for tax exemption. If uncertain, consult a tax professional before proceeding.

Only submit tax exemption documents if we collect sales tax in the state(s) where you plan to ship. Sales tax will be applied to shipments going to the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Washington DC, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

Carefully review the following guidelines. Incomplete or inaccurate documents cannot be accepted, and you will be asked to resubmit a corrected form.

We require your documentation on file before reviewing your tax exemption eligibility. A tax ID number alone is insufficient.
It is your responsibility to provide accurate and complete forms and to understand the requirements for tax-exempt or resale purchases.
Our tax exemption team cannot make changes to your documents. Any required corrections or additions must be completed by you. Ensure your documentation is legible; if we cannot read it, we cannot process it.

If your account is set up for tax exemption in specific states due to reselling, manufacturing, or other special tax circumstances, all orders shipped to that state will automatically be exempt from tax. You cannot modify which orders/items are exempt during checkout. If you are placing an order that does not qualify for tax exemption, please use a non-exempt account.

Tax exemption is evaluated on a state-by-state basis. A tax exemption form for one state is valid only for orders shipping to that state.

Please allow 7-8 business days for our Tax Team to review and respond to your request via email.

Ensure your account’s email address is up to date and monitored. SupplyChef will not be responsible for missing tax exemption documentation if additional information is requested and no response is received from you.
